Guys don't worry we fixed the Candy Machine | Project Date 8 - PreAlpha - 0.2.27 & 0.3.44


ATTENTION DATERS AND SKATERS: 

We’ve got a new build with new content, bug fixes, feature updates and more. 


Backend Updates: 

Updates were made to the Conversation Tool, including visual/ease of access tools for file editors, additional meters for Relationship points, and various choice gates for quest flow. 

  • Conversation Tool now allows devs to color code nodes
  • Can now export NPC dialog to .txt file
  • Added outline to nodes in Conversation tool
  • Added Relationship points to characters
  • Added RelationshipMeter Debug by pressing J and looking at NPCs
  • Updated AI system (many, MANY times)
  • Added AudioSource.Stop() to Radio to stop song at the end and play the next one after
  • Added event calls for Adding ending scenes without needing to use AskOut event call in conversation tool
  • Adjusted several materials

Lots of animations and assets were added to this build. 

 

  • Added Von Smith Smith Smith Character Model with placeholder animation
  • Added Wilhelmina Character Model with placeholder animation
  • Added Jolene Brown Character Model with placeholder animation
  • Added Tutorial “Practice Partner” Character models with temporary accessories
  • Added Restaurant Logo added to Entrance
  • Added Counter, Chair, Table, Candy Machine, Door, and other Environmental 3D assets
  • Added a temporary jukebox interface - not functional
  • Added Diegetic Overworld Music (We actually made it come out of the speakers, y’all) with music contributions from VoltMea and Titan 995
  • Made NPCs turn with movement
  • Doors now knock down the player if they're standing in their way
  • Chef and owner now talk to the player if they get close enough
  • Updated Credits
  • Added invisible walls back to Safe Zone
  • Added caution tape to Safe Zone (To make everyone EXTRA safe)
  • Replaced safe zone chairs with folding chairs (Safety is truly our first priority) 
  • Gave practice partners dialog for after you complete them
  • Implemented Gumball physics
  • Added option for NPC to not turn to the player
  • Improve flooring throughout level
  • Added Fire Particles
  • Added temp effect when a characters relationship score goes up
  • Bar lights now turn up at last call (last 10 minutes of freemode)
  • Timer now turns red at last 10 minutes
  • Increased number of shadows
  • Made environment collision buttery smooth
  • Added fading ambience to front (currently bugged)
  • Replaced tables around dance floor
  • Wall lamps. We have them now.
  • Added pizza box interact (currently bugged)
  • Made player able to look up and down while talking to NPCs
  • Made Up/Down Arrow Indicators in Dialog Choices disappear after a choice was selected
  • Pam now gives the player a drink ticket
  • Added 1 Pamela ending cutscene (have fun finding it ;) )
  • Made it so when talking to an NPC you can hold the Right Mouse Button to move the Camera
  • Made it so when sitting the Player can look around a bit
  • Added Inventory icon to Hud
  • Added bumper sticker and Catholic flyer
  • Created first inventory items

Fixing our oopsies: 

We make ‘em, we break ‘em, we shake ‘n bake ‘em. 

  • Fixed bug where hovering mouse over player responses in dialogue didn't highlight them
  • Fixed bug where empty responses still showed up as a response
  • Made sure Instance for GameManager was being set in Awake so that other systems wouldn't break if they needed it right away.
  • Made sure Interactions Menu didn't appear directly after selecting the action
  • Made sure Tilde is the correct debug key
  • Made sure nodes / grid are dragged properly in conversation tool
  • Made it so you can drag more than one node at a time in conversation tool
  • Fixed in-game conversation bug
  • Fixed stage lights
  • Fixed the bug where Wilhelmina decapitates herself. (Family Friendly y’all, it’s a way of life)
  • Fixed salon doors in kitchen

  • Fixed bugs with options menus and credits scene
  • Progress made on bug where NPCs would walk away while you were talking to them (Not finished, but we’re getting there)
  • Fixed bug where interaction raycast was detecting the player and not the interactable
  • Added collider on Pamela's table to prevent NPCs from walking through it
  • Fixed Candy Machine
  • Fixed bug where player could walk while falling from getting hit by the door
  • Fixed bug where options menu did not disappear when player unpauses
  • Fixed bug where clicking on Arrows for Dialog Options would choose the choice underneath
  • Fixed bug where player could choose Dialog Options while paused
  • Fixed bug where Audio in Main Menu would not loop
  • Fix call limit for Pam Leave Tutorial
  • Fixed bug where Tutorial Chairs would not appear during Safe Zone tutorial
  • Pam dialog bug fixes
    • Added safe zone dialog as checkpoint
    • Fixed bug where pam said there's 20 minutes left
    • Neutral Dialog conversation tree corrections
  • Adjusted table positions
  • Made Volume Slider actually work
  • Made Slider Knob for Volume Slider more clear. (It was fuzzy before.)
  • Adjusted screen resolution options to reflect size and refresh rate. 
  • Fixed collision to keep player in safe zone doesn't line up with bounds of the lobby
  • Fixed jittering NPCs
  • Give gum fixed for all practice dates
  • NPCs now Teleport out of Safe Zone at beginning of Tutorial
  • Fixed Main menu button in Credits Scene
  • Made it so getting out of a chair has you face the same direction you were facing before getting up
  • Updated missing Materials
  • Removed some unused assets

But besides that, we’ve had even MORE creators join our crew. Emer has been helping us make sounds that real humans would make and Luke of YouTube fame (http://youtube.com/FlashCake) is quests that will blow your socks clean off.
